Kind Hugs is a piece about the prejudice the Powerhouse women face on a daily basis in their lives. Powerhouse for Women is a charity that aims to empower women with learning disabilities through activities like Art, theatre, music, learning to read and write, trips and sports. 

The group show several real life scenes that they encounter and finish with a song about how they cope with the support of each other. We have worked with Florian Seubert, theatre facilitator; Claudia Vau, Psychodrama Therapist; and Jane Wheeler, Musician (Living Song) to develop this piece.

This project is funded by Neighbourhood Grants, Community Links teamed with Clarion Futures.
