Having savoured the charm of Parisian streets for two years on a youth visa, her time in France is drawing to a close. While her parents urge her to return home, Kaitlyn's heart remains firmly anchored in the French capital. Desperate to extend her stay, Kaitlyn seeks counsel from an immigration lawyer, only to be met with disheartening news. However, a serendipitous phone call with her sister unveils a hidden facet of her family history that promises to alter the trajectory of her life. She discovers that her Ukrainian grandfather, born amidst the shifting borders of Eastern Europe of the early 20th century, technically hails from Poland—a revelation that could hold the key to securing a coveted European passport. But, as Kaitlyn's journey unfolds, she discovers that borders and identity are far more nuanced than she ever imagined. Along the way, she reflects on the meaning of home and the truths she's been running from. Will this newfound heritage solve her problems, or is true belonging something deeper than nationality?
