Social media and influencer culture had already been fuelling feelings of inadequacy amongst the young and young-ish generations. Systems are buckling under pressure all around us, and it seems that we are in the throes of a seismic shift in how we define a life well-lived. Grindset podcasts tell us that nothing short of greatness is acceptable, but what is the point of greatness on a burning planet? We can keep curating our online presence to trick others into thinking that we've “made it,” but maybe they all know we're faking it. And, is there a twinge of disappointment in our parents' voices? What happens when we openly, shamelessly sit together in our disappointment and disillusionment and see what we can create out of it? Expect a mash-up of subversive humour, clown, physical theatre, a peppering of audience interaction, and probably the phrase “oh bless you” several times.
