Work-in-Progress showing

Gigi Star fled the comforts of her seaside home to take on the bright lights of London. Five years of slogging it at temp jobs, zero-hour contracts and she’s nothing but a weary fish in an overcrowded bowl. In a desperate attempt to survive and validate her place in the music world, she does something truly radical – She sells her vocal cords of magic to the Devil.

Will Gigi ever get her voice back? Was it really worth the fame?

Gigi Star and her Vocal Cords of Magic is a story of capitalism, broken dreams, purpose, friendship, and the necessity of art. This is a modern-day fairy tale for adults. Forget knights dressed in shining armour, this is about overcoming assholes wrapped in tinfoil.

Simply told by Gigi with an atmospheric live score of guitars, loops and maybe a triangle.  This is a raw, dark, funny and touching poetic show that will restore your faith in the power of good old-fashioned storytelling and remind you that life is about the journey, not just the destination.
