We're thrilled to launch Springboard Festival, a festival of new work coming to Applecart in Spring 2024

Featuring incredible emerging artists, the festival will celebrate some of the best talent in the UK at the moment.

The W.I.G. of Life: A Conference
23rd - 26th January 2024 
Time: the not-so-distant future. Space: a conference amongst AI. Biological life is extinct. One organism has the power to bring it all back. The choice is yours. You’re invited on an interactive journey through changing moral codes and futuristic visuals. Put on your chosen avatar and help make the final decision on biological life.

I Love Vita
23rd - 27th January 2024
Vita and Virginia — a literary love affair told twice, a century apart. A novel, an award, and a flowerbed. And a lot of Tweets. ‘I Love Vita’ is about the way we love each other, and how much this has changed over the last hundred years.

Not Dead, But Growing
30th Jan - 2nd Feb 2024
Maud wants to learn more about Ireland.
Bridie wants to talk about her life in London.
Colleen just wants to open the pub.
Whilst Seth wakes up to find himself on a pool table.
Weaving together the past and present, Not Dead, But Growing revolves around a multigenerational Irish family living in Brent as they tackle gentrification, uncover family secrets, and embark on new relationships.

Plymouth Rocks
30th Jan - 1st Feb 2024
Plymouth Rocks retells the story of The Puritans from the perspective of their forgotten heroes- The Pilgrim Mothers.
In a combination of comedy and tragedy we watch them make and lose friends during their journey onboard The Mayflower and as they attempt to create a new home in America.

3rd & 4th February 2024
Passenger wants to talk with everyone... It's a shame they picked the Underground as the place to do it. Plus they can never find the right words, or the right thoughts, or the right moments to speak. A solo show, with physical theatre and puppets, exploring what’s needed to connect.

Reanicorp
6th - 10th February 2024
In a time of disconnect, reconnect. In a time of loss, regain. In a time of death, rebirth. Reanicorp offers clients the chance to extend their time with loved ones, allowing them to confront their grief head on. But does life need an expiration date to stay meaningful?

The White Rose
10th & 11th February 2024
'The White Rose' is a (work-in-progress) historical musical recounting the heartbreaking story of Hans and Sophie through the perspective of their father, Robert Scholl. In an artistic fusion of music and drama, the piece will immerse you in the rebellious journey of two courageous teenagers who dared to defy Hitler.

A powerful and multidisciplinary show exploring intersecting stories from Eastern European folklore and contemporary experiences of migrants in the UK. Told through traditional storytelling, song, movement and puppetry.

The Trials of a Gentleman
17th & 18th February 2024
Born in 1960, but raised in the 40s and 50s, primary teacher David Martin, a man at odds with modern life, prepares for a police interview after his arrest for murder. How could a gentleman - a kind and chivalrous man - be responsible for the death of two people?

Welcome to the World
24th & 25th February 2024
Come on an adventure with Little Wild Theatre as Mother Earth’s children, Tide, Ariel and Blaze all take their first steps into the world. From undersea adventures to flying up to the clouds and exploring dragon-filled caves the three siblings are reminded they can do anything they put their mind to!
