Places I Never Think About is a myth-ified exploration of the real-life experiences of Eastern European immigrants in the UK, examining identity, queerness and migrant joy.

In this production, three characters from traditional Hungarian, Romanian and Croatian folklore come to life, sharing their stories that parallel the experiences of contemporary immigrants. Through the narrative, we delve deep into the complexities of belonging, guilt, and the families we leave behind. Told through live songs, traditional storytelling, and puppetry, "Places I Never Think About" speaks to the child within us, invoking a sense of nostalgia and wonder. The show leaves audiences with a sense of empowerment and joy by bringing them together for a communal dance to end on.

The creatives of Places I Never Think About acknowledge that there are so few inclusive and queer friendly Eastern European spaces. We hope that all who come to see the show feel accepted, embraced, and welcomed.
