A message from Applecart Arts

Hello everyone,

Due to the current situation, in the interest of public safety, we have taken the decision to reduce Applecart Arts to a skeleton service. For the time being, the building reception will close and the centre will not be holding public events.

As an organisation dedicated to providing space for our friends and communities, both local and artistic, it is all the more regrettable that we can no longer currently serve our neighbours with space to meet and get together. Community cohesion and supporting one another is a basic human need, especially during difficult times, and as a team we will continue to do all we can to provide this support remotely.

The implications of our closure will be felt heavily across Applecart and those that use our spaces regularly, however we are remaining hopeful and optimistic for the future and aim to return from these difficult and uncertain times bigger and stronger than before.

Our upcoming events Fable Workshop: The Collider Sessions and the Shakespeare Workshop have been cancelled. We apologise to those who have already bought tickets and we will be in touch shortly. We hope to reschedule these events in the future. Watch this space for any updates. For the time-being we are going ahead with the scheduled performances of Bare Knuckle on 10th-13th June and Tales of the Sea on 6th June. Please see our website for more information and updates on these events.

While our building and office might be closed, we are all still working hard behind the scenes. We’re currently in conversation with local services to see if our building might be of use to the community in other ways during the crisis. Please do get in touch at info@applecartarts.com if you have any concerns or just want to chat. We are here and open to conversations as to how we can support your work in the future. We’ll be in touch soon, with plans to support artists as we work together to show our communities just how resilient, determined and imaginative our creative industry can be.

In the meantime, if you would like to support Applecart Arts throughout this period, we encourage you to take a look at our Spacehive campaign and consider pledging to our crowdfunding campaign. Reaching our fundraising target will be a huge help in recovering from this period of closure.

It’s not goodbye, it’s just see you later.
