Following the success of our Christmas on Green Street event in December 2021, we're delighted that Applecart will be returning to Green Street in Upton Park this February to present two days of performances, workshops and activities for all the family to enjoy.
We'll have stages and marquees filled with colourful characters, musicians and magicians guaranteed to make you laugh, sing and even get up and dance. Enjoy a range of fun activities from arts and crafts to African drumming and Bollywood dancing. We’ll also be celebrating 10 years since the Olympics and Paralympics came to Newham, so there will be plenty to get you up and on your feet!
And the fun isn’t limited to just Queen’s Market. Over the course of the weekend look out for a variety of performers on walkabout and pop-up stages and activities all over Green Street. Why not try and visit them all?
Applecart will also be recording and live-streaming performances and events taking place on the Queen’s Market stage and broadcasting events online, so don't worry if can't make it to everything, you'll still be able to check out what's going on!

Across the weekend, there will be workshops, performances and activities at Queen’s Market, Queen's Square, St Stephens Parade, the Crescent Road pedestrian area, plus the Park Road and Neville Road junctions with Green Street.

Mari Dangerfield
With a knack for fragile songs bursting with originality, Mari Dangerfield's sound is consequently hard to define. Coining her sound ‘Quirkpop of the mind, body and laptop’, her productions are characterised by rich vocal harmonies, catchy hooks and cinematic arrangements. Created by choreographer Julian Nichols (he/him), Those Thoughts explores the impulsive and instinctive nature of the human mind between two individuals. This work solely bases itself on the immediate physical reaction of others. Introduction to flamenco dance workshop led by Magdalena Mannion from Dotdotdot Dance. Flamenco is a strong and unique solo dance form originating in the south of Spain. Koroleko
Koroleko play thrilling and original, contemporary West African music throughout the UK and Europe. Headed by the charismatic and talented multi-instrumentalist Moussa Dembele, a griot from Burkina Faso, the band is currently made up of five phenomenal musicians from Africa and Europe. Moussa performs on balafon, kora, n'goni, percussion and vocals and is accompanied by a kick drummer, djembe, saxophone, and bass players. Race for Equality – Women in Sport with the East End Women’s Museum
