Applecart will be opening it's doors on the 17th and 18th September as part of the Open House Festival 2022. Open House Festival is an annual two week celebration of London featuring amazing events, tours and open days of special buildings across all 33 London boroughs.
Join us on the 17th and 18th September as we open up our new space for visitors in the now transformed Passmore Edwards Library.
The Passmore Edwards Library was opened in 1899. In its first year, the library registered over 3000 local bookworms. The building has been used as a registry office before sitting dormant and is now open to the public as a creative hub.
Over the course of the weekend our CEO and Artistic Director, Peter Moreton will be running timed tours through the building, we're hoping to show VJ Decoders documentary tracking the lives of former residents in the theatre, and there'll be a Jazz Voice and Piano Duo with Meg Bird & Kayvon Nabijou in the cafe, as well as an exhibition of local artist Ferha Farooqui in the exhibition space.
As usual we shall be serving delicious food an drink in the cafe.
